JOHNSON & JOHNSON
Jansen and Janssen are some of the most popular surnames in the Netherlands. Their direct translation would be something along the lines of Johnson and Johnsson. The American Johnson & Johnson company is often referred to as ‘Janssen’ in Dutch because of this. Dutch people talk about getting the Janssen vaccine instead of the Johnson and Johnson one. But “Jansen and Janssen” is also an institution that keeps a close eye on the police and the AIVD (the Dutch intelligence and security agency), named after 2 detectives in the Dutch translation of TinTin.
